Yay to the first post! Lots of topics to cover about huskies and malamutes, many stories to share, and an abundance of rescues ready for adoption. Extremely happy to say that a lot of this information will come directly from all of the resources I have mentioned throughout my site plus many more!

I'd like to point out that much praise goes to these rescue organizations but I would also like to include animal shelters, animal sanctuaries, and other humane societies that also work toward saving the lives of dogs. Check out my list in the resources page of "Other Notable Organizations." Although my main focus revolves around husky and malamute rescue organizations, there are times where these other animal organizations work with rescue groups to refer huskies and malamutes. Not always, but sometimes.

Also, not all huskies and malamutes end up with a rescue organization. However, huskies and malamutes can enter a rescue organization due to undesirable circumstances such as abandonment, neglect, a stray loose on the street, puppy mills, abuse, or a high kill shelter. These are two very special breeds and it's extremely important to understand them before adopting. Indeed they are absolutely stunning but what are they like? Stay tuned to find out!
